Summary
Lund University, with its 7 faculties and a number of research centres and specialized institutes, is the largest unit for research and higher education in Sweden. Lund University was founded in 1666, partly in order to tie
more closely to Sweden the provinces which had been ceded by Denmark in 1658. Since then, the University has developed into a modern, international centre for research and higher education.

Language of instruction
Most courses in English are reserved for exchange students only. Students with good command of Swedish are able to plan to take courses taught in Swedish.
Tuition and fees
Studying at Swedish universities is free of charge, but you have to pay a limited fee to the Student Union.
Housing
The International Housing Office administers a limited number of student dormitory rooms, studios and shared apartments in Lund for international students. Priority is given to students coming within exchange programmes.
