Summary
The Katholieke Universiteit Leuven can look back upon six centuries of history. On 9th December 1425 Pope Martin V conferred upon it the bull of foundation, thereby making it the oldest university in the Low Countries and the oldest Catholic university in the world.

Tuition and fees
Tuition for students is approximately EUR 470 (BEF 19,000 or USD 470). Some international programmes may impose an additional tuition fee. Visiting scholars are exempt.

Housing
The Housing Service collects all information about available single rooms, studios, flats and apartments and stores this in the computer. Students can select the type of housing they want, taking into account items such as location, number of students in the house, size, comfort, monthly rent etc.

Visa Requirements
The following regulations apply to all students with the exception of citizens from EU and EFTA member states: All
students coming to Belgium for the purpose of study or research are required to have a valid visa or a residency permit. Students should not enter Belgium as tourists or with a tourist visa. Please contact the nearest Belgian diplomatic mission for details.
