Information for   Summary Erasmus University Rotterdam is an institution of higher education and research. This government sponsored University, named after the humanist Desiderius Erasmus Roterodamus (1469-1536), was created by the merger (in 1973) of the former Nederlandse Economi-sche Hogeschool, founded in 1913, and the Rotterdam School of Medicine, founded in 1966.
