Indoor shopping: "Convenient shopping"

written: 09 January 2001 last time there: January 2001
Winter in Canada can be a real pain (read my other review!). But thank God, we Canucks have remedies to beat the cold when it comes to shopping.
No one wants to be outside shopping when its -15 or -20 degrees, so Montreal urban developers decided to connect most of Montreals downtown shopping area by underground tunnels. This means that you can go to department stores, restaurants and theatres all without having to step outside. In addition to all being connected, you can step in the Metro (subway) once you finish shopping.
Even if the whole downtown area is not interconnected (that would be just too cool though!) everything is reachable with the subway or the bus.
Pros: Shopping made convenient
Cons: Can be really crowded, but thats to be expected
Details: Downtown Montreal on St-Catherine Street, Metro McGill or Peel
