Franz Kafka and the Golden Lane: "Check out where Kafka lived!"
written:
05 June 2001
Another attraction that you simply must not miss is the Golden Lane, which is a part of Prague Castle.
The lane is connected in legend with alchemy and magic. In fact it is named after the goldsmiths who used to live and work in its 16 tiny houses.
For some time in 1917 Franz Kafka lived there, in one of the 16 small houses!
When you eventually arrive to the Golden Lane (which will take you some time if you go walking up the stairs, like I did with my friends) you will see how some of the houses are transformed into a classical music shop, an art gallery shop, and yes, in the Kafka's house you will be able to buy all of his literature, postcards, etc.
If you are a Kafka fan, or simply interested in literature, you will definitely enjoy visiting the Lane and its houses.
Pros: it is Kafka!!!

The Karlow Bridge: "A walk in time!"
written:

One of the most beautiful sites in Prague is definitely the Karlow Bridge (Charles Bridge), which crosses the Danube river.
During nice days you will encounter a large amount of stands that offer hand-made jewelery and art pieces (sculptures and paintings).
The bridge itself is an art piece, filled with beautiful sculptures!
In the middle of the bridge there is a sculpture that the folks say will bring you luck if you rub it. :)
In the Autumn or at night, the bridge looks very romantic and slightly spooky (especially with the fog surrounding it)...
Pros: walk that brings you back to the past times

Rowing on the Danube.: "The Danube, a boat and a girl."
written:
18 September 2000
A few things about Prague scare me. The Metro, for example, is frankly petrifying. And the lurking, moustachioed men. What do they do? Such things aside, though, its beauty is plain to see (ironically enough) and, with the right mix, it can be paradise. the first thing you must do is find a girl/guy, preferably one you like. After this has been achieved both of you should ramble down towards the river where you should see a number of rowing boats. Politely request the use of one of said boats for a period of time which i leave to your dicretion. then, row out a little, stop, lie back in the arms of your lover (as an option, you can let the tips of your fingers glide across the water) and try to think of a time you felt more content. i bet you canīt.
Pros: Unadulterated peace.
Cons: It may be raining

Prague Communist Tour: "Commy tour"
written:

If you have a chance, take the Big Foot Communist Prague tour. There's a bit of hype (although truthful) in the brochure, but the tour was great. She answered many questions and took in the needs of everyone in the group. A lot of interesting info and she'll give tours in, at least, I have personal knowledge of, English and German.
Pros: great tour, good value
