the gypsy serenade experience: "gypsy violinists "
by kissprincesa visited here iNote   (24 May 2003)
just a tip It is quite common for outdoor cafes to be "invaded" by gypsys in tuxedos who walk around playing the violin for diners. It is customary to tip them equivalent of about USD3.00 or so. It's very romantic!

Harassment: "Not a pretty thing! "
by evaglamour visited here iNote   (12 January 2002)
just a tip When I visited Budapest, I found it to be a fantastic city, but it was a bit disgusting to find boys and men which said horrible things to me and even tried to touch me.

"The marketplace "
by AkaSKidor visited here iNote   (23 June 2000)
just a tip On sundays most things are closed in Budapest, but the marketplace in the middle of the city is still open. Its worth checking out, it gives you a chance to chat with the locals.
