Wonderful city: "You haven't seen nothing if you haven't been to Palermo!"

Palermo is a superb city, where you can breath the real mediterranean atmosphere. It isn't more dangerous than other italian cities, just be careful in some area, i.e. near the port, where there are many ruined buildings. I've been there and nothing happened, just go there during the daylight and leave your valuables at your hotel. This area is interesting, especially it's woth to see Piazza Marina and the near Palaces.
If you go there don't forget to see "La Zisa" , the Chatedral, "La Cuba" and, near Palermo, "La casina cinese", near Pellegrino mountain. Visiting this mountain, where there's a sanctuary dedicated to the Patron Saint (Santa Rosalia) it's a unique experience.
In the end, if you like flowers and plants, go to the Botanical Garden, you can't imagine the variey of flowers and perfumes. Other beautiful gardens are the English Gardens (Giardini Inglesi) and Villa Giulia.
If you have more time go also to see Monreale (half an hour from Palermo) and its Duomo. You'll be thrown in the past history and will see one of the most beautiful churches in the world.
