Culture: "Life in Vicenza"
by jovans
written: 16 April 2003 last time there: April 2003
The city of Vicenza is one of the most beautiful places one could visit in the world. The town is known throughout the architecture world as Andrea Palladio's home, as well as his playground. The city offers a variety of activities for everyone, from biking to hiking and simply just relaxing. If you have never travelled to Italy before, you will be surprised to see the city practically shut down between noon and 3:30. This is called the siesta. Where most people around the world live to work, Italians work to live. They take a few hours in the middle of the day to rest and relax. It is odd at first but you will get used to it. Having lived and studied in Vicenza, I highly recommend it as a vacation destination or a place to study. The natives are possibly the nicest people I have ever met.Buon viaggio!
Pros: Amazing city
Cons: No cons
