I've been in Kyoto in middle April and it was enchanting. But if you want to see full cherry blooming go in the early April. Kyomizu Shrine is one of the most beautiful attractions.An ancient atmosphere is also in Sannenzaka and Gion.

This city holds forth all of the culture and history of Japan. Buddhist temples, Shinto shrines, and Pagoda palaces make this the most spectacular city in Japan.
