City transportation: "The country of cheap transportation"

written: 01 April 2001
Communication is cheap in Poland compared to other cities in Europe especially if you are a student then you'll have 50% off, just be sure to have some special student cards. You'll need Isic for city transportation.I'm not sure about other cards so it's better to ask before. There are day and week tickets also.Be aware they don't work on the night lines. Taxis are also not expensive but it's recommendable to take a Taxi which belongs to an agency. They usually have a telephone number written on the light bar on the top.Or just call a taxi company for a cab.It costs the same but it will be a little bit hard communicating with the operator. Good luck with the street names

Pros: cheap
Cons: lacking punctuality
Rating: just a tip

"metro"

the metro is clean, safe, fast and cheap - definitely the best way to get around in Warsaw. shame they took 10 years to build just one line that only goes halfway across the city!

Pros: cheap, safe, clean, fast
Cons: only 1 line!
Rating: 4/4

"buses"

written: 12 June 2000
these goddam buses are never on time. the drivers seem to take a perverse pleasure out of making you run 10 miles off the bus stop, then shutting the door in your face. take the metro or cab if you can - they're both cheap

Pros: cheap
Cons: they are evil
Rating: 1/4
