South Saudi Arabia Attractions: "Farasan Island, Jizan, Saudi"

written: 08 January 2008
You might be surprised, but yes Abha is one of the greatest places in Saudi and it has lots of greenery. But what is most recommended is to visit the island south of Saudi and it is called Farasan. You can reach it from Jizan Port. The loveliest virgin beaches with simply no one around...lots of friendly seagulls that approach for food. And a good bathing in the red sea. I also recommend you visit the village Sair. It is 2 hours to the north from Farasan Port (by car). This village is very old and it contains an ancient village that is built with clay and rocks, but unfortunately no one knows what happened to the original habitants of that village. Some locals told me that a disease killed all the habitants long time ago...and all what is left is the ruins of that village. Some of the current locals have refurbished some old houses and lived in them...

Pros: virgin islands, ancient village, old houses
Cons: locals at the beach might harrass
