A cheaper alternative to get to Parc Güell is to take the bus No. 24 (bound to Carmel). Fare is the same as subway's, you will get to see some of Gaudi's work along the way (if you take the bus at Plaza Catalunya), as well as a glimpse of the lively Gracia area. You should get off at the Parc Güell (duh) stop, which is located across the street from an alternate entrance to the park.
Pros: cheap, nice trip, you won't have to walk uphill
