Noise Pollution: "Noise, noise, noise"

written: 07 May 2002
If you are planning to travel to Murcia, get used to wearing sleeping with silicone earplugs beforehand. Murcia has a major problem with noise pollution (deafening motorbikes, dogs barking on balconies all night, drunken teenagers in huge groups on street corners, crowds of people literally shouting each other down in restaurants). The residents are used to it due to hearing loss. Take my advice; I've lived here for eight years.

Lifestyle and culture: "Murcia is Superb!!!!"

written: 22 August 2001
I have lived in many different cities in different european countries. Life in the northern european countries is good but nothing comparable to living in a southern european city like Murcia. Murcia is such a nice relaxing place. People are friendly, life it's lived to the full thanks to the many fiestas there are. People are cheerful. It's not a manic, fast-paced place at all, which is great, as you have time for everything. Wherever I've lived, I've always felt I had no time for anything, days were too short, however, in Murcia I always feel like there's always time. Everything can be done later or tomorrow, there's no rush. I love to go back there and visit. I love feeling the sun, sitting in a bar and having tapas while watching the world go by. I love going to its beaches and taking part in all the fiestas. Food is so healthy and tasty.... It's definately worth a visit!!!

Pros: Beautiful, hot, beaches, friendlyness , good food
Cons: Not many people speak good English
