Salamanca Culture: "Salamanca Studies and Experiences"

written: 14 April 2002
The best way to experience Salamanca is to go into the Plaza Mayor or the sidestreets with shops that lead to the Plaza. There you can see all the tourists and students, most who meet under the clock @ 11pm. Good food and service, but the poor people come to ask for pesetas while you eat.

Pros: variety, food tasting, no car needed
Cons: walking, weather either hot or cold
Rating: 3/4

La Plaza Mayor: "Where to meet up with your friends..."

written: 05 July 2001
When I was studying in Salamanca la Plaza Mayor was the center of activity! It is a beautiful, warm plaza where everyone meets. Traditionally, the easiest way to find friends is to meet around 10-11 PM under the clock which is on one side of the plaza. Afterwards, grab a "copa" or a "cafe" at one of the many cafes around or in the plaza before heading out to dinner and dancing!

Pros: lots of activity, great warmth
Rating: 4/4
