services sleepngo.com: "shared housing seville"

Hello, My Name is Henson and I was studying in Seville until February. I was worried to find a nice place to stay, but before I arrived, I found my accommodation through www.sleepngo.com
The service they have provided was excellent and the flat was nice and clean and as described on their website. I can recommend this company to everyone staying in Seville. Greetings back from Sweden, Henson
Pros: clean and friendly

The Giralda: "A must"
written:

The Giralda (the cathedral) is one of the best-known monuments of Sevilla (together with the Torre del Oro) and Spain. It was an ancient mosque converted into a Christian church after the Reconquista.

Calle Tetuan: "Las calles de Sevilla"
written:
26 July 2001
Everyone knows about Calle Sierpes, but the parallel street of Tetuan is my personal fav. It takes you straight from the Plaza Nueva to the Plaza del Duque (where there's a Corte Ingles).
You can find anything and everything at el Corte Ingles, but if you're looking for better prices try the streets of Seville. There are 3 giant Zara stores on Calle Tetuan where you'll find the same clothes as here in expensive Zara Int'l stores for about 1/3 the price.
For an even better bargain head over to Triana where you'll find street vendors selling everything like 2 and 3 burnt CDs for only 1000 pta (about $6 US). If you're looking for the greatest CD collection head to Sevilla Rock by la Plaza del Duque.
Or if you're in a mall mood, head over to Nervion Plaza.
Happy shopping!!
Pros: everything's cheap
Cons: you'll spend too much b/c it's too cheap
Rating: 3/4

El Carboneria: "Flamenco where it began..."
written:
13 October 2000
While in Sevilla, the region of origin for flamenco, take in a night of entertainment at El Carboneria. The bar has a cavern-like feeling with low ceilings, long picnic bench tables, and an great plant-filled terrace where the music spills out. Musicians (guitarists, singers, dancers, violinists, etc.) taking turns, usually fill up the little platform stage at 11 or 12 and the music just gets better as the night goes on...
Pros: cheap tapas, authentic flamenco, nice setting
Cons: can get crowded
Rating: 3/4

Barrio Santa Cruz: "Barrio de Santa Cruz."
written:
18 July 2000

Pros: maravilloso sabor andaluz.

Hotel Doña María: "Un hotel con mucho encanto"
written:
17 July 2000

written:
26 June 2000
If you absolutely must see a bull fight, Sevilla is a good place to do so. Getting cheap tickets is easy if the matador is not one of the super stars. I strongly recommend to stay away from Novilladas though, fights with young bulls and relatively inexperienced toreros, in which the torero often takes 20 or more stabs at an in the end half-dead, non-moving bull without managing to kill it...
Pros: Traditional
Cons: Bloody
Rating: just a tip

"The Cathedral"
written:
26 June 2000
The cathedral is an absolute must-see, but then again everyone who comes to Sevilla does anyway. Mounting the minaret will exhaust you (no stairs, but a ramp to make horseback ascent possible...), but reward you with a superb view of the city.
Pros: Very impressive
Cons: None
Rating: 4/4

"Tapas: it's a social life"
written:
15 June 2000
Tapas are a part of life in southern Spain. And that life is a very social life where the idea that "time is money" would strike most as absurd. Forget your hurries, join a friend, and sit around the bars near the cathedral ordering delicious tapas as you chat away.
Pros: Cheap, varied, and social
Cons: You'll miss the experience once you leave

"Sadly Easter?"
written:
13 June 2000
You should be in Sevilla during the Eastern to feel the mix of sad and joy people live those days.
You'll see all well dressed following the religious images, singing short pieces 'saetas' to them, crying but also telling nice words... Deep instincts emerging...
Pros: People, Bars, Live essence
Cons: Hot, Crowed (but this make it more intensive)
Rating: 3/4
