it's a very beautiful place, with kind of tale houses, where you can walk through green mountains, round the lakes, (in one of them you can even take a little cruise), or buy in the nice shops. If you work there (as I did), you'll find it's a good place for relaxing after/before work.
Pros: In the middle of the nature; next to a lake.
Cons: not much night life
Details: It's in the North of England. You can reach Manchester airport, take a train to Windermere, and then 1/2 h by a bus beside a lake.
