Stomp: "London great theater"
written:
24 August 2005
Hey all :)
Just wanted to share my great experience watching the famous musical Stomp at London's magical West End theater district. I always thought that for a big production you should go to Broadway. But I was terrably mistaken. Seeing Stomp in London was nothing less then spectacular- the show was great (very well produced and perfumed) and the whole night scene at the West End district has a great feel to it.
And to top it all I was able to get a very nice discount on my tickets with very good seats using a nice site I found called http://www.broadwaybox.com/london
Pros: Good theater Good atmosphere and Good price
Cons: non for me
Rating: 4/4

Pros: good music and environment
Cons: it closes at 3.00 a.m

"a great little spot for chill music and an equally down to earth crowd"
written:

If you're looking for a great little place in the High Street Kensington area to enjoy a few cocktails while listening to some chill music, check out Jimmy's. The soul, jazz, and blues groups this place features are especially enjoyable. Its about two block blocks from the tube station, and always a good time. It can get pretty packed on the weekends, and the doorman can be somewhat intimidating at times, but once inside you'll feel right at home. The vibe is great, people are spectacular, and the pretention is minimal. If a guy named Miles happens to be on stage, be sure to ask him to play "Papa was a rolling stone".... it gets the whole place moving.

Prince Charles Cinema: "Cheap Movies"
written:
12 July 2001
When you want to see a movie in London but don't want to pay 8 pounds 50 to see one (crazy!), head over to Chinatown/Leicester Square where you'll find the Prince Charles Cinema. They show movies which are usually about 6 months old and they go for, at most - 3 pounds 50 or 4 pounds. Except for the Sound of Music Sing-a-long on weekends which is 12. They should be paying *me* for my wonderful singing contribution!
Pros: cheap
Cons: older movies, crowded entrance
Rating: 3/4
Details: Leicester Square tube station, from Leicester Square, head north towards chinatown and it's on the right.

Bar Salsa: "British Salsa"
written:
24 January 2001

I am sure there are several good salsa bars in London but I've only been to this one and it was a lot of fun!! From what I've heard, Mondays is the best time to go but it was hopping the couple of times I was there. Not a very big place but it attracts a decent crowd. And if you get there before 9 PM, it's free and since it is so early, there will still be room on the dance floor.
Pros: good atmosphere, free before 9 PM
Cons: dance floor kind of small
Rating: 3/4

"Caspers"

For a very unique experience, try Casper's in Covent Garden. Every table (and every bar position) has a telephone, and a sign hanging from the ceiling pointing out the number of that phone to all other patrons. When the phone starts to ring is when the fun begins. People call from all other parts of the establishment, and most of the time you can't see who it is (and vice-versa) which leads to loads of open flirting, blatant lies and a thoroughly good time (particularly so when a few beers are added to the equation). Serious fun when you go with a group.

Bar Rhuumba: "Drum n' Bass at Bar Rhumba"
written:
08 July 2000
Young, unpretensios crowd and the international mix, made this my favourite place for clubbing while I studied at UCL. 3 quid at the door with student ID. Wednesdays are usually good for Deep house and Drum n' Bass but check Time Out to see what nights are the best, as some resident DJ's are better than others. Also, if you're on a budget, make sure to get pissed BEFORE you go.
Pros: Cheap, young, friendly
Cons: Expensive drinks (of course)
Rating: 3/4

Ministry of Sound: "ministry of sound"

This is one of the most famous nightclubs in London, and you should definitely make it there if you're in London for a while. Get really dressed up all glamorous-like, and put your dancing shoes on for a great and very late night. There are different rooms depending on your music taste (hard-core techno, softer dancy tunes, and a chill out room where they play movies). A very fun nightclub where you're guaranteed some fun!
Pros: different rooms, fun music, glamorous people
Cons: long queue, bit expensive
Rating: 4/4
