First of all, for those of you who don't like to read too much. Look no further, go to Babylon and there will be no regret! I am a computer instructor and specialized in teaching adult learners. The very first day at Babylon Idioma, I knew that I found the best school with the best teachers. As a learner, very often you may not see what the teachers are doing to help you learn and sometimes, you may be able to tell the difference between an excellent teacher and a good teacher. However from an instructor's point of view, I could see that the teachers were using all the teaching techniques to help the students learn in a super fun and an interactive learning environment. And here's the truth, everyone can go to school and learn to be a teacher...but it takes a lot of effort to be an excellent teacher. At Babylon the teachers take these extra steps to be excellent teachers. Here's an example, when a student asks a question in class, the teacher can just easily answer the question. However, the teacher usually asks another student to answer first so that the other student can speak and practice. Here's another example, normally students get very tired in the afternoon, the teacher usually throw in some activities that involve moving around. All these extra efforts really make learning fun and interactive and in return, you will learn sooooo much more that you can't even imagine. If you are going to compare other schools, please take my advice as an instructor. Don't look at what's being taught. Check out how it's being taught because no matter where you go or in which country you learn Spanish, the contents are always the same, grammar is grammar. When I first arrived in Barcelona, I spoke almost no Spanish. In only a few weeks, I could order food in restaurants. I could carry on a basic conversation with people. Not only I learned the language, I learned so much about the Spanish culture and met so many friends. We also shared so much about our countries and personal experiences. Before I left, I could even get a taxi to the airport, all in Spanish. The amazing thing was I understood every question the taxi driver asked. At Babylon, you are among friends! and of course parties are optional. Also the teachers rotate at Babylon. You don't always get the same teachers...so in the unlikely event that you don't learn from one, you will definitely learn from another.
1. Experienced instructors
2. Variety of teaching methods
3. It's all about the learners
4. Fun learning environment
5. Friendly staff
6. Comfortable pace
7. Balance between grammar, speaking, listening and activities

I did not only improve my Spanish, I also had a lot of fun during the classes. It was the mixture of students from all over the world and our nice teachers which contributed to the lively atmosphere.

We did all kind of exercises such as reading, writing, listening and writing. Sometimes we worked in little groups, this enables you to improve your interpersonal/cultural skills as well.

Furthermore I enjoyed being able to apply what I just learned after the classes. I tried to speak as much Spanish as possible with the other students although English would have been easier for us and can only recommend you to do the same if you really want to improve your Spanish.

You also get homework to do but never too much and the teachers prepare you well for doing them and answer also individual questions during the course and after the classes.

During the break I used to have coffee with my fellow students on the huge patio in the sun. It's quite spacious and the wooden banks and table really invite you to have a chat with the others and make plans for the weekend.

Once per month the teacher and students meet in a bar (it's not a must but you should not miss these evenings). There you can get to know students from other classes and since they change the bar each time you get to know new places in Barcelona.

The only thing I did not like that much was the classroom but once the class starts you do not care that much that there could be a little more light and space.

My overall experience at Babylon Idiomas was very good.
- Learning progress
- Diversified classes (good mix of grammar, speaking, reading, listening and writing exercises)
- Very friendly staff
- Good location
The classroom could have been more spacious and brighter

Babylon Idiomas is an excellent language school for anybody wanting to learn Spanish or English, either just for fun or at a more serious and intensive level.

The teaching standards are fantastic and it is hard not to be impressed by the obvious planning and organisational skills that each and every teacher has. That, together with high levels of competence, enthuisiasm and fun that all the members of staff bring to the school, would make me recommend Babylon Idiomas to everybody with a mind for wanting to improve their language skills in either English or Spanish.

The school also offers a wide range of social activities throughout the week, which offers something for everybody. It is very hard to feel out of place at Babylon Idiomas and not to make friends, however long your stay.
Excellent teaching standards.
Fun, fun, fun.
A wide and organised network of accomodation possibilities.

I stayed for 2 weeks at Babylon Idiomas to study Spanish and I had an awesome time in Barcelona! The classes were a good mix of grammar and conversation so it never got boring and I could really see my progress every day. It helps a lot to be surrounded by the language, to watch movies and talk as much as possible at home, as I was staying with a host family. They offer a lot of social activities so it was really easy to meet people and explore Barcelona together after class. I hope I can come back this summer to continue with the course!!
well structured classes, good mix of grammar and conversation, located in the city center, friendly and personal atmosphere
maybe even more activities :-)

It took me forever to select a school, but eventually I decided to take a course at Babylon and never regreted my choice. The system with different teachers was great. All of them were so dedicated to their job and they were never tired of new students coming every week. They really encouraged all of the students to speak. I had additional conversational classes with only a few students, which was great. All classes were lots of fun. I would recommend everyone to go there.
