Personal spending habits
Everything in Britian is at least about twice as expensive (if not more) than in Germany. Quality for money is very low, specially in regards to accomodation.

Personal comments
ALDI in Cambridge helps a lot. Sainbury's in city centre is lot more expensive than the one on Coldhamslane. Fresh and - more or less - reasonably priced vegetables and fruits best to be bought on the market. Eating out is always pretty expensive. Best tip: look for a job or save a lot before going to Cambridge!
Good for travel: travelcard for the busses pays of in no time.

Personal comments
Learniong English in Britain is easy. Ony problem as a foreigner: courses are often with other foreigners and one has to carefully make sure that there is no lack of communication with native speakers. Participating in any kind of sports solves that problem rather quickly though. Main languages spoken in the business school are besides English: German (lots!!!) and French. Sometimes majority in a class of foreign origin, which is not so good (specially when they are all from the same country)

In my opinion:
Most people loved it.
Important factors in my choice
(1) Unimportant – (4) Very important
Personal recommendation
Specially the beginning is not very well organised and very confusing. Stay calm, relax and don't take everything for granted that they tell you! Own initiative is needed in order to succeed. Don't underestimate the work load, just because it's so relaxed in the beginning!!!!

very difficult to get appropriate accomodation in cambridge in general. on campus only for first year possible. accomodation office assists in finding accomodation, but that's no guarantee. own initiative is needed and highly recommended. if one is really early, good houses are offered also through university
