HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
Personal comments:
Place where I use to live was good. But there was so many problems and manager didn't solve problems so I'm very disappointed to living in that place. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students interact with the local community without much university involvement
Activities: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment Nightlife: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
Best nightclub in Athlone is Bozo and it's biggest nite club. And very nice pub is The Shack. Also at college was pub called Scribes and it's good place also and there you can see all your friends. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

ACADEMIC
My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
Programming with c++ course was very good and also data communication & computer networks. I wouldn't recommend multimedia cause you only have to do webpage and little bit Java.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
First they said to us that we have to do whole Diploma, but I had alreaydy done mathematics and hardware studies so I have to choose other subjects. And it's was quite haed to do, because at first they didn't let us to do so. SO my suggest to improve this system is that you could choose any subjects what are good to you then you don't have to do twice same things. Language difficulties
Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my English How much did you improve your English?
My level before: Everyday knowledge (shopping, directions, etc.) My level after: At ease in most situations Personal comments:
At first I had problems to speak english and I was quite shy to speak it. And I didn't trust my skills. But after month or two I spoke it quite good and I wasn't nervous any more. And now I know that it's not so important to say right way things, more important thing is that I can communicate and I understand what people are saying to me. EXPENSES
The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
Government assistance Other sources of funding:
Personal savings An ERASMUS grant Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options Personal spending habits:
Telephone: I didn't call to home cause I used email and all friends here lived so near that I didn't have to use phone. I travelled lot in here and I had quite active nightlife. But before I came here I knew it already that I'm going to travel a lot. Place where I lived is very expensive and electricity here is very expensive also. Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Food: was the same price as at home. Telephone: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
In the pub I spent so much money before christmas. So if you want to save money don't go every time when others are going. I did it :( This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
