Preparing for the business environment
Tom B
Netherlands, Undergraduate
Business Studies, 2021
Overall
As one of the best universities in the Netherlands, AVANS does itself justice by having a selection of experienced teachers and well thought out curriculums and project. The International Business study, which is fully taught in English, sets you up for a promising career in a variety of different functions. You will undergo courses to improve your marketing, financial and entrepreneurial skills and implement these into several projects which fit the courses really well. You are left to your own responsibilities in finding your way into the work field, with very little to no help while finding your internship abroad. The study also helps you get acquainted with foreign cultures since you will often find international students within your project groups. Overall, I am really pleased with how this study helps you prepare yourself for the business world where you are aiming at.

Netherlands, Undergraduate

Overall
Avans is a Nice school, with my bachelor international business I have alot of different courses form mostly people who worked in the workfield for a long time. lso there is alot of connection with the work field trough projects with real companies. This is very nice and keeps you motivated. also the upportunity to go abroad twice is something I really like. my downside of the school is that the classes are quitte big and project are sometimes not monitored very well.

Avans University is a modern and futuristic university.

Overall
What Avans University is doing different than other Dutch universities, is that they lay the responsibility with the students. In a normal school week, we have (on average) 10 contact hours with a teacher present, the rest is all self-study or doing projects with your classmates. You have to take responsibility and be independent to be a student at Avans.

Careers
Avans University does not offer internships, you have to find an organization to do your internship yourself. They are always willing to help you find one by giving advice, but eventually you have to find one yourself. Same goes for international internships.
