HOUSING

Personal assessment
Type of housing: with 12 roomates !
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? I would find 2 or 3 good friends to live with me in our own place instead of living with 12 roomates (great) BUT with the 2 owners... no party possible !
Personal comments:
I was living 5 minutes'walk from the campus and I had the choice between twob train station to go downtown. What was great was living with 12 international roomates. The bad point was that the Japanese owners were also living in the house. No party, and quite no friends allowed in the house/ garden. Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students equally interact with the local and student community
Nightlife: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment Activities: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
1) T's Bar (Massachussets avenue) : a karaoke bar with coktails for less than 3 $ - Great souvenirs ! 2) Cape Cod should be visited : 1 hour South Boston... dream beaches, bodyboard, wild woods, lovely arts villages... 3) I forgot the name of the very popular spanish night club ; salsa all night and drinks allowed on the top of the building (a splendid This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
American university provides, in general, a good student/faculty ratio. Thus, the relationship with the professors is easy and close. Take advantage of it and learn as much as you can. There's an enourmous variety of courses, choose wisely according to your objectives and possibilities.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
There's plenty of scholarships for American students. However, I would suggest more efforts from the University regarding scholarships for international students. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't. How much did you improve your English?
My level before: At ease in most situations My level after: At ease in most situations Personal comments:
What helped me a lot to communicate/meet students was the dynamism of two associations : 1) GISA = Graduate international students association 2)MBA students association I thank them again ! barbecues, partys, journeys, ... everything was an excuse to organise something This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
Family Other sources of funding:
Personal savings Work opportunities:
It was not legal for me to work Personal spending habits:
At home I lived with my parents at that time, therefore, all the expenses related to living costs increased. Food and accomodation are more expensive in the U.S. than in Spain. Telephone expenses also increased haivng to call to Spain. nightlife is really up to your spare time and your personal choice. I summary living abroad resulted more expensive than living at home for me. Food, Travel, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Nightlife: was the same price as at home.
Personal comments:
I already knew before going to Boston that it was one of the most expensive cities in the U.S. You can save more money if you choose not living on Campus because you decide how much you spend in almost everything. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
