The currency was stronger so everything was a bit more expensive, especially the rent, but it is usual in UK cities, electricity, water and gas cost more than in Finland. I spent more on nightlife just because I went out a lot more, I think the drinks may be even cheaper in UK but I'm not sure... Public transport was cheaper in Coventry compared to home, also got a nice student discount from buses and trains. Food, Nightlife, Overall, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Telephone: was the same price as at home. Travel: was less expensive than at home.

Pretty hard to open a bank account if you're just an poor student not working.. :D But I succeeded to open a cash account in the end, but it took 5 weeks of running around offices getting documents and booking appointment.. I wasn't calling my home country. About the accomodation, in England I had a single room, while at home in order to save money I have always lived in a trple room, cheaper. Overall, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Food, Travel, Nightlife: was the same price as at home. Telephone: was less expensive than at home.

At home I was still living with my parents, therefor I had a lot more expenses such as food and rent. I also used the opportunity to travel to London, Birmingham and Manchester a few times, that is why my travel expenses were higher. I did however walk to school everyday (30 minutes) so did not spend anything on that. Food, Travel, Overall, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Nightlife: was the same price as at home. Telephone: was less expensive than at home.
