Course recommendations:
Select mainly French courses if you're french is at a medium level! Ohterwise you tend to talk English a lot and you're possiblities to meet french (they do not like to speak english) students is minimal

Personal spending habits:
Food is more expensive in France although there are some cheap supermarkets but they didn't seem very trustworthy in terms of quality of products Nightlife is much more expensive (twice as much) as in Austria For travelling I cannot say a lot; haven't really had the time to do it!
Food, Nightlife, Overall, Housing: was more expensive than at home.
Travel: was the same price as at home.
Telephone: was less expensive than at home.

Check with special offers from the different banks here! Buy pre-paid phone cards to call home!

Try to pick courses you really like but just within one "filière" to avoid problems (timetable, tests, ...) Administration here is chaotic, stay calm!!!
