Language difficulties
Language of instruction: French
Was learning French a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't. How much did you improve your French?
My level before: Everyday knowledge (shopping, directions, etc.) My level after: At ease in most situations Personal comments:
Difficult to explain; depends on your willingness to speak with other people; some people reduce it to a minimum, others like to speak with everyone they know This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

EXPENSES
The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
Government assistance Other sources of funding:
An ERASMUS grant Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options Personal spending habits:
Food is more expensive in France although there are some cheap supermarkets but they didn't seem very trustworthy in terms of quality of products Nightlife is much more expensive (twice as much) as in Austria For travelling I cannot say a lot; haven't really had the time to do it! Food, Nightlife, Overall, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Travel: was the same price as at home. Telephone: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
Check with special offers from the different banks here! Buy pre-paid phone cards to call home! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

I wish I had known...
The cost factor regarding housing & nightlife In my opinion:
I loved it but I'm not sure everybody would.
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
Try to pick courses you really like but just within one "filière" to avoid problems (timetable, tests, ...) Administration here is chaotic, stay calm!!! FINAL COMMENTS
If you want to get around here cheap get yourself a student travel card (ISIC). Visit places outside of Paris & if you have the time outside of France (Belgium, Netherlands, Italy) Before leaving home check the university homepage. They tell u what u need to bring along (insurance card, ...) This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
