Was learning French a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my French How much did you improve your French?
My level before: At ease in most situations My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang) Personal comments:
I chose two language courses in French. One course thaught by the head of the institute of French was excellent. It was the most and maybe the only completely satisfying course I attended in Paris. Through this education I was able to improve my French skills sharply. The communication with other students was rather easy and it was fun. In fact, the improvement of language was the only positive aspect in relation to academic education at DAUPHINE. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Most of the people try to speak english when they discover that you are a foreigner. I never felt confident with my knowledge of the french language although I thought I did really well. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

If you try to explain yourself in French they will very politely try to help you as far as possible although French administration is a horror! Keep cool & wait! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Difficult to explain; depends on your willingness to speak with other people; some people reduce it to a minimum, others like to speak with everyone they know This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

It's a great place to learn but you are most likely not going to interact frequently with local students, but rather with international students more. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

I actually took all of my courses in English because I wanted to try and use my knowledge of the French language that I had from school and university. I can say that my comprehension of the language has improved, but my speaking not so much but that is really down to the individual to make a conscious effort to talk to the locals.
