HOUSING
by Javier, Universidad Pontificia Comillas de Madrid, Madrid, Spain
Management Science, Erasmus
Personal assessment
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why? If you stay there just one trimester, this is the best way to meet people. I had a car, so there you don't have any trouble to find a parking because is far away from downtown. People who lived in the center, had to take a bus to go to the faculty (it takes around 35 to 45 minutes depending on the traffic)
Personal comments:
The good points: the residence for the foreigners (Le Galion) has many activities going on inside. Financial aid from the french government (CAF) Wireless connection. There is a cleaning woman that comes every week The bad points: it could get too loud sometimes, specially if you coincide with a group of libaneses. Some students "lost" some belongings (ask for rooms in the first or second floor not in the ground floor) This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
a great deal of my courses are chosen by my school, some of them are not so suitable for me during my study, but on the other hand, i learn alot because all the knowledge is new and interesting for me, i also chose some elective courses in french as well, as to this part, i am so satisfied with the content and method of schooling
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
i prefer more practical way to evaluate students. taking an example, i took a couse named negociation, the professor organised exact nogociation round among the students face to face and by phone with American students This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: French
Was learning French a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my French How much did you improve your French?
My level before: Everyday knowledge (shopping, directions, etc.) My level after: At ease in most situations Personal comments:
As is the case with many English-speaking students around the world, I have become increasingly annoyed with local students wishing to practise their English on me. Nevertheless, my French has improved considerably. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
That the studies at EM Lyon does not take to much time. You dont need to stress to much about school. In my opinion:
I loved it but I'm not sure everybody would.
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
EM Lyon offers a large choice of courses. They have very professional teachers from whom you can learn a lot!!! If you want to work in France you should absolutly go to this school!! They have great ressources and are very helpful. The teachers are nice to foreign students and not to demanding. If you have the opportunity to go?, GO!!!! FINAL COMMENTS
Try not to fall a sleep during the classes. In Sweden we are used to 2 * 45 minutes but here it is 1.30 * 2... But you get used to it! Try to make friends wtih French students, they are really nice and you will have a great time with them. Dont be scared of being laughed at when you speak french. The French likes it when you make an effort to speak their language!! join the wine club and go on the trips the arrange, this is great fun!!!
