KEY:
Couldn't have asked for more.
Pretty good.
Could've been better, but didn't lessen the overall experience.
Disappointing.

Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? The house is the best choice for Oxford because it enables you to live with your friends and also because it will save your money. Living in Oxford is very EXPENSIVE and it is very difficult to find a good rental agency.
Personal comments:
Anyway, do not hope that you will live in a big and comfortable house. The "poor" standards of living in Oxford are the same for all in Oxford even for the wealthiest people !

Describe host city: Students equally interact with the local and student community
Nightlife: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment
Activities, Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment
Personal comments:
The Freuds cafe in Oxford is great for it is an old church... As for nights spots, one should not miss parties organised by the Oxford University, it is great to meet british and foreign people.

Personal comments:
Teachers should pay more attention to in-class work, for it helps one to know if he or she is getting better at the subject.

Overall
Language of instruction: English
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't.
How much did you improve your English?
My level before: No problems in any areas (including slang)
My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang)
Personal comments:
The program I follow is is succesively 3 countries: UK, Spain and France in 3 languages. Therefore, when it comes to English I am just improving it in professional areas. And in the meantime I need to cover my Spanish in order to be almost native the following year where I am going to study.

KEY:

Minimal effort.
Accessible but required effort.
Almost impossible.
Second-hand household items
Computers / Internet
Administrative
Money from home
Main source of funding:
Family
Other sources of funding:
A private grant
Work opportunities:
I worked during my study abroad experience
Personal spending habits:
Living in Oxford is far more expensive than in France. It is as simple as that ! But you can earn a lot of money if you get a job in banking in London. I do not think Oxford is expensive if you consider your studies as an investment.
Food, Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was more expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
You should look for an accommodation for 3-4-5 students to get a house not too expensive.

FINAL COMMENTS

Oxford is a great town to be in for some time during your studies. Near to London yet in a beautiful provincial location. The school gives a lot of advice and is very helpful. A great experience is attending all kinds of presentations of companies seeking graduates and offering graduate programme opportunities.
