HOUSING
by Panagiota, HES Rotterdam, Rotterdam, Netherlands
Business Studies, Erasmus
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why? It would give more opportunity to meet students from the host university.
Personal comments:
Although the room and facilities were sufficient, there was lack of an area within the building to meet one and other. The location was great thought, only 10 min from the center by foot! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students interact with the local community without much university involvement
Activities: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Nightlife, Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
profit from the location at the antalantic coast and do aqua sports, enjoy a "café au lait" in the cafes with view over the old port, student bars to go out at night: Cave St.Nicolas, Lou Foc, Piano Bar, Cohiba Bar This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

ACADEMIC

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
Althought I felt the level was lower than at my homeuniversity, theory was more demanding.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
The set up for interaction between french and international students should be better organised. Being a freemover it would have been easier to have somebody by your side that knows the system of the school. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: French
Was learning French a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my French How much did you improve your French?
My level before: At ease in most situations My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang) Personal comments:
At the beginning it was difficult to understand the slang of all the local students so I asked when I did not get the meaning of words or special sentences. It was helpful that ESC La Rochelle offered all the foreign students a language course during the first two weeks. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

EXPENSES
by Isabella, Fachhochschule Regensburg, Regensburg, Germany
Business Studies, CEMS
The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
Government assistance Other sources of funding:
Family Government assistance Work opportunities:
I worked during my study abroad experience Personal spending habits:
In general, life is more expensive in France than in Germany. Furthermore, I travelled a lot, and travellin is also expensive. Food, Travel, Overall, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Nightlife, Telephone: was the same price as at home.
Personal comments:
You can demand the CAF, which is normally granted for all students. For travelling with the train, I propose to buy the Carte 12-25, with this Carte you can economise alot of money. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
