That France is significantly more expensive than Austria regarding housing. Very difficult to find a room near city center in acceptable prices.

Personal recommendation:
Take not all courses if you don't have to. They are interesting and quite difficult. So if you want to profit as a non french you have to concentrate on the courses that are really interesting for you, if not you won't have time to profit from the beach, the city and the nightlife (which is really great) in Montpellier.



FINAL COMMENTS

Make up a french bank account - without it you won't get the CAF (french gives you an aid for your room - around 140€). Don't forget to visit Barcelona. Only a three hours trip by bus - its a great city. Don't go alone in the outskirts of Montpellier after 8 in the evening - especially as a girl - could be unconfortable or even dangerous.

FINAL COMMENTS

Montpellier is a really great city, no stress, everything is relaxed. Thas why everything is a bit slow than usal... I experienced a lot of problems with my Banking Institution (LCL) and I was not the only one. In general you should be careful with any administrative institution, they are really "french" :-) There is a lot to do arround and a lot to see. Barcelona is worth a trip, its not too far. Cheap flights to London or Dublin are also avliable.

i was at the 4eme anneè undergraduate and everyboby cames form other countries so as personal recomendation , try to get alogn with french people too to know their way of live and lear more about the culture.

Get te 12-25 cart to travel ... you can get some offers and discounts to travel around the cuntry. ryanair is a cheap way to travel.

try not to stick with students from your country, even though it is not easy to be accepted by the locals as one of them. They will sure be your friends, but not too close.

Go to Andorra, Barcelona, take your car with you but dont leave things in it unattended if you have a foreign number plate. Watch your stuff. Dont order beer. dont look too close at the quality of most things in the area. enjoy yourself!

The courses are well organised and you can find vey easly all the info you need.

My comments are definately positive. It is an experience that has to be done: it's good for your carereer and for your personal growth. Just one advice, try to find a place where to stay before you go there.

Excellent!Small college so you can get to know people easily, small classes, brilliant social activites throughout the year.

Go travel somewhere/anywhere every weekend you can. Especially before Christmas when you will probably have more money and the weather isn't very nice yet.

Start yoga lessons :) People from the south live their lives at their own speed, in other words => SLOW! Don't think you'll get anything done in one day, give it a week or two!

Travelling: go to Barcelona, Collioure, Cassis, Marseille, Aix-en-Provence, Sète, Camargues... A lot of nice places! Bars: search for nice small bars when you're tired of the usual erasmus bars

Although it is a little bit difficult to meet french people, it's really easy to meet foreign students.

I would recommend to adquire the TAM card to travel troughout the city. And to travel trough the country I would recommend also to get the 12-25 card, to travel by train with a lot of discounts.

It does get quite cold in the winter even though Montpellier is in southern france so bring a winter jacket!
