HOUSING
Personal assessment
Cost
KEY:
Couldn't have asked for more.
Pretty good.
Could've been better, but didn't lessen the overall experience.
Disappointing.

Type of housing: Residence
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? Because of the costs!

STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Activities
KEY:
Amazing! Hardly had time to study.
Plenty to do when I had the time.
So-so.
Did not get involved.
Nightlife
Travel
Overall
Describe host city: Student life dominates the city
Activities, Nightlife, Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment
Personal comments:
Night spots are hard to find in Montpellier because they have to close at 01.00AM. On the other hand, you have bars in every street and they all have their own charm! Here are some names: Barbarossa, Cargo, Café Joseph, Macadam, The Australian, ...

ACADEMIC       3.0 / 5

Could've been a bit better.
Disappointing.
Variety of courses
Availability/access to resources
Interaction with teachers
Interaction with other international students
Interaction with local students
Course recommendations:
Some of them don't make any sense at all, but just go to learn french!! It's the best way!

It was alright.
A bit annoying.

Language difficulties
Social
KEY:
No problems.
I coped pretty well.
Sometimes it was difficult.
It was a constant struggle.
Educational
Administrative / Institutional
Overall
Language of instruction: French
Was learning French a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my French
How much did you improve your French?
My level before: Everyday knowledge (shopping, directions, etc.)
My level after: At ease in most situations
Personal comments:
I learned loads of french but i'm still not 'bilingue', that's because of the Erasmus program. Other students don't speak a word of french, so you adapt to them and speak English. I have to admit, my english improved more than my french

Personal spending habits:
Simple, because its more expensive...
Food, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was more expensive than at home.
Travel, Nightlife: was the same price as at home.
Personal comments:
Drinks in bars are, compared to Belgium, extremely expensive, so just go to a supermarket, get your drinks, have an aperitive en then go out!

In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!

During my experience abroad, I ...
Became familiar with another culture
KEY:
Happened all the time.
Happened quite a lot.
Happened a bit.
Didn't happen.
Traveled
Improved language skills
Met people from other countries
Became more independent
Partied a lot
Experienced a change in life
Advanced my studies/career
Personal recommendation:
Start yoga lessons :) People from the south live their lives at their own speed, in other words => SLOW! Don't think you'll get anything done in one day, give it a week or two!
