HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why? Less comfort and space, but more contact with other students
Personal comments:
I was proposed housing by the university, which I declined because it was too small, probably noisy. I did select alternative housing myself, but allthough more comfortable, it was also quite expensive and it limited my contacts with other students, because of increased travel times. STUDENT LIFE
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students interact with the local community without much university involvement
Nightlife, Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment Activities: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
Coming from Leuven, "the" university city with the best social life, the big and cold city of Rotterdam was no comparison. But the university did do a good job in improving that, by assigning a group of buddies. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: Dutch
Was learning Dutch a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't. Personal comments:
The Dutch "open society" and the fresh atmosphere at the Erasmus university was a very experience. Dutch and Flemish are ofcourse for 99% the same, so I had no problem whatsoever. Some lectures were in English. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

OVERALL
Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
The dutch culture can be very surprising : going from very strict, formal, structured and organised, to aspects which are very informal. Making some judgment mistakes (being too formal or too informal) brought me in ackward situations. In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
Spend some time on shopping around for decent housing, all the rest at this well organised and highly acclaimed university was excellent. FINAL COMMENTS
No university can beat the Leuven university (Belgium), but an Erasmus exchange to the ... Erasmus university was very enriching. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
