HOUSING
by Ulrike, Hanzehogeschool, Hogeschool van Groningen, Groningen, Netherlands
Marketing and Sales Management, Erasmus
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: A room exchange
Why? To meet more people and to get into a social group faster.
Personal comments:
As I looked for it myself I cannot really judge on the FHBB´s facilities. However, knowing Switzerland a bit, it should be very much ok. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE
by Ulrike, Hanzehogeschool, Hogeschool van Groningen, Groningen, Netherlands
Marketing and Sales Management, Erasmus
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students equally interact with the local and student community
Activities: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment Nightlife, Travel: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
Cross the border to Germany and France and check out Mulhouse and Lörrach. Especially Lörrach is rather surprising having only a few but very good clubs with decent atmospheres, cheaper drinks than in Switzerland, playing music of all styles, mixed people... something for everybody. My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
Definitely focus on the majors offered. Even though they are taught one whole day per week (9-5), they are worth it!!
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
Give exchange clearer instructions regarding the assessment of examinations. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: German
Was learning German a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't. Personal comments:
Fine and funny... ;) Being a native German speaker I found Swiss German rather funny in the beginning but got used to it quickly. They use a lot of words that "German" does not use anymore. It was really interesting. When you are into languages, you´ll appreciate it!! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Personal comments:
Go groceries shopping in Germany!!! Also for cloths Freiburg, Weil am Rhein and Lörrach are better alternatives. The same brands everywhere but cheaper. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
No, everything was rather "European" and not too strange. In my opinion:
I loved it but I'm not sure everybody would.
During my experience abroad, I ...
