HOUSING
by Anna, University of Bath, Bath, United Kingdom
International Relations, Erasmus
Personal assessment
Type of housing: university accomodation, not on campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: the same
Why? i would still like to live in university accomodation because one can meet so many people from around the world. However, if I was staying in Berlin for both semesters I would move to a flat/appartment for the second part of the year.
Personal comments:
Satisfied, the only thing that could have been better is the location! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: German
Was learning German a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my German How much did you improve your German?
My level before: No problems in any areas (including slang) My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang) Personal comments:
I had an easy time, but I had lived in Germany for a year already. German is a difficult langauge, so be sure to interact with Germans as much as possible. Don't get lazy and speak your mother tongue. If you want to do that, you can stay at home. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
I wish I had known that the student dorm in which I stayed was not a very good option in terms of facilities. The pictures on their website were misleading so I believe I could have made a better choice in terms of accommodation. In my opinion:
Most people loved it.
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
I believe that the modules in this university are quite hard, considering the fact that they are also taught in German. My recommendation is that if students are considering to spend their Erasmus semester at the FU, they should be fluent in German or eager to improve their German. FINAL COMMENTS
Berlin is very close to the borders with Poland, so it is a very nice opportunity to visit it! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
