I recommend that every student who has the opportunity to do an exchange, should take it. It is a strong character building experience. Read Review

Type of housing: Apartments on a student residential area
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: In the same place !!
Why? We lived only students on that place, mixed the swedish with the foreigners. It´s the best way to meet people and enjoy your student life. The appartments also were pretty big and confortable.
Personal comments:
They arrange everything for you before arriving there.Pretty easy !!

My academic experiences
Quality of courses
KEY:
Fantastic.
Pretty good.
Could've been a bit better.
Disappointing.
Variety of courses
Availability/access to resources
Interaction with teachers
Interaction with other international students
Interaction with local students
Course recommendations:
The courses were very well organised, however, there wasn't many opporties to interact with the Swedish students. It was very divided between the international and Swedish students. I believe, to gain a great cultural experience, one must interact with the locals.

My opinion of the university assessment

Didn't like it.
Exams throughout the course

Yes, I wanted to improve my Swedish
How much did you improve your English?
My level before: At ease in most situations
My level after: No problems in any areas (including slang)
How much did you improve your Swedish?
My level before: Did not speak it
My level after: Everyday knowledge (shopping, directions, etc.)
Personal comments:
Scandinavia ans esp. Sweden are just amazing in speaking English. It's not easy to learn Swedish, since they always change to English if they notice that it is hard for you to speak Swedish.

FINAL COMMENTS

Travel along the Bohuslän coast - its so beautiful if the weather is nive. Go to the Skärgarden of Göteborg (islands, archipelago) you can go there with your tram ticket... and travel! (Lappland, Finland, Norway, Estonia (TALLINN - very nice!) and there is a grant from a rich guy who donated all his money to student and student life in Göteborg. but you can only get if you are there during the summer termn, but the student union will tell you. for me it was 400eur (for 1 year) and for the people staying only summer term 200eur.
