Definitely the Kompassen pub downtown, and for those who would like to dance : Mortensson and Bengtsson (this one has free entrance). And of course Karen, the Students pub on the campus!

It was really nice too deepen my knowledge in the local language. The language of instruction (english) was a problem neither before nor during my stay in Sweden.

Everything very expensive in Sweden!!! In Munich I don't have to pay rent and don't travel
Food, Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was more expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
Student ID gives discounts even in supermarkets; use university institutions (pub, movies); more expensive in the university: shop, hairdresser, restaurant/cafeteria, copies!

Personal recommendation:
Hogskolan i Halmstad is fairly a good university. You have lots of academic opportunities. It's a place to get an efficient education.



FINAL COMMENTS

If you are planning to become an ERASMUS student, you should never miss EILC (Erasmus Intensive Language Courses). Halmstad University doesn't offer any EILC but you can choose another Swedish university giving EILC. I was in Hogskolan Dalarna, Falun for EILC. Even though it was a short period of time in Falun (only three weeks), it was full of my most memorable experience.
