Switserland is not a cheap country to live in. Inflation, Revaluation of the franc, monopolies, import restrictions, ...
Food, Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Housing: was more expensive than at home.
Telephone: was the same price as at home.

If you have a cellular, avoid roaming and buy a prepay card.
