telephone in Canada (even to Europe) is very cheap; as my apartment was situated in the center of Montreal, it was a bit more expensive than my apartment in Austria; as I travelled a lot before and after the exchange program in East as also in West Canada, I spent a lot of money for travel. Canadian immigration authorities ask you to proove your ability to have the necessary savings for all your stay in Canada(as far as you can't work in Canada with a student visa).
