HOUSING
by SALAWOU, Copenhagen Business School, Copenhagen, Denmark
Economics, University Agreement
Personal assessment
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why? Because of the facilities and the campus environment
Personal comments:
Accomodation was good on campus with many facilities indoors and outdoors. rooms withs internet access, telephone, bathrooms and so on. Classrooms are two feet from the residential halls all on a very green campus area. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE
by SALAWOU, Copenhagen Business School, Copenhagen, Denmark
Economics, University Agreement
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students interact with the local community without much university involvement
Activities, Nightlife, Travel: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Personal comments:
All night activities take place on campus. Not to missed is tursday evenning. It's crazy yet students try to make it in class on friday. Le Zinc, la K-fête are the main students meeting points for a coffee and a beer. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
- chose french classes => a lot of international students only spoke English and didn't improve their French at all. I didn't care too much about the subject but more about the language
My opinion of the university assessment

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: English
Local language was: Different than language of instruction.
Was learning English a key decision factor?
No, it wasn't. Was learning French a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my French How much did you improve your English?
My level before: At ease in most situations My level after: At ease in most situations How much did you improve your French?
My level before: Basic phrases My level after: Everyday knowledge (shopping, directions, etc.) Personal comments:
Well, i had no problems communication in English, plus i could practice my French a lot =)) But in the beginning it was difficult to understand the accents of the professors, although all the classes were in English. The most complicated for me was to understand the professor from Canada. I had experience of "french english" before, so it did not take long to adapt. The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
Family Other sources of funding:
An ERASMUS grant Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options Personal spending habits:
The rent was higher than at home. Food in the cafeteria was cheap, the same applies to nightlife on campus (does not apply to Paris, Paris is really expensive). Travel, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Food: was the same price as at home. Nightlife: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
Open a bank account in France, then you can apply for the CAF, a financial housing support from the state. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
I wish I would have known that rent was so high. also absence of kitchen in the dorm was an unpleasent surprise. And of course the time it takes to commute to Paris (from 40 min to 2 hours depending on strikes or construction works that happen way too often in France) In my opinion:
Most people loved it.
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
Very prestigious school to have on your CV, honored professors, nice people but on the whole did not meet my high expectations. FINAL COMMENTS
Do not have very high expectations! Learn some basic French to be able to get around. Apply for CAF the moment you arrive on campus (CAF is a student support for rent from French government, up to 200 euros per month, to apply go to the website www.caf.fr - there you would need your basic French by the way) This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
