I think the housing program at UI is a very good idea. They give to you the name, the location, the rent and the period you can stay.

Because of the Icelandic economic situation which also affects inflation rate. Moreover, in the travel categorie, I wanted to visit as many places in Iceland as possible.
Food, Travel, Nightlife, Overall: was more expensive than at home.
Housing: was the same price as at home.
Telephone: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
Doing your trips before the 31st of May can allow you to save quite a lot of money.
