HOUSING
by Marko, Copenhagen Business School, Copenhagen, Denmark

Personal assessment
Type of housing: Studio apartment in student housing
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Same place!
Why? New building and furniture, great central location close to school and the Helsinki city centre. Each room has free broadband Internet connection, there is a launderette on every floor and 3 saunas on the top floor (some with a terrace).
Personal comments:
Choice of central studio apartments for €464 per month and flat shares (Ida/Puistola/Pasila) out of the city centre for €150/€215/€250. If you don't want to pay for the studio apartment, I would choose the flat share Ida. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Personal social experience
Describe host city:
Nightlife, Travel: Takes place mostly within the university/student environment Activities: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
The student union of the university (KY) was very welcoming. It organised many things for exchange students: a cottage week-end, trips and, of course, many parties at CONTROL (on thursday nights). But we also went to night clubs by ourselves: Tiger, Kerma, Teatri were nice places. There was an Irish pub I liked as well: Molly Malone. No, it wasn't. Was learning the local language a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my knowledge How much did you improve your local language?
My level before: Did not speak it My level after: Basic phrases Personal comments:
Even the local language was the Finnish and it is really difficult to learn and speak it. Everybody in the city was able to speak English, so it was very easy to speak with people. but we also take some lessons about Finnish Language and we where able to say some basic pharases to survive. Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
Nowadays, there shouldn’t be any troubles of getting any information. Everything I wanted to know, I checked before either on the Internet, or through school or Embassy. In my opinion:
Everybody loved it, you will too!
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
Students should be prepared to work hard throughout the whole semester. There are a lot of cases, essays and project to write, what usually takes a lot of time. Nevertheless, the final exams are very easy. FINAL COMMENTS
I had a really good time there. However everybody should be aware of the fact that a lot depends on the people you are there with! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
