The 'hogescholen' in The Netherlands offer a wide variety of higher professional education in applied science. In January 1995 a new 'Hogeschool' has come into existence: The Hogeschool van Utrecht. It is a result of a merging process of three institutes for higher professional education in Utrecht.
The Hogeschool van Utrecht is one of the largest in The Netherlands; it offers a wide variety of programmes in technology,science and engineering, commerce and administration, communications, health care, teacher training and social welfare.

Why? I felt it seemed like a family, when I shared the apartment with my housemates.
Personal comments:
Personal space is very important for students, on the other hand, it is also a good chance to learn deal and make friendship with different people if have some common space to share.

Go swimming or some pubs. In Utrecht, there are some pretty good pub, such as " Rose" etc, and also good discos available, for example "Get Down Cafe". And it is also hard to forget many Erusmas Parties, we got a lot fun during that year.

I got a lot of new understand about my major during that one-year exchange study. I am also appreciated that there are a lot of courses about Finance and Accounting, which I was majored in since my home university in China, and some Cross-Cultural Management courses, which attracted me very much.

Most of my classmates were Europeans, which means that it was not international enough. If it is possible, I would like to learn more about the local language.

Personal comments:
I am really courious about Dutch language, by the way, I am keeping learning till now. Unfortunately, most Dutch can speak so beautiful English that I could not find a lot of chances to practise my Dutch language. Honestly, the English level of Dutch is also a good point for me, a foreiger, living in the Netherlands.

There is huge consume spread between China and Netherlands, since Chinese have much lower income than Dutch do.
Food, Nightlife, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was more expensive than at home.
Travel: was the same price as at home.

Share a flat with others and cook by myself are good chances to save the living cost.

I read a lot about the Netherlands before I came for the studies.Actually, I was still shocked a lot, when I really started my life here. However, I dont think there is something I could prepare before coming.

That is pretty good university, but it seems that "International" only inside of Europe, not really global. Anyway, I enjoyed my life in Utrecht, and learned a lot.
