Why? The hotel was within the University and in close proximity of everything there.

Friendly staff and spacious rooms. The main drawback was a curfew.

Personal comments:
University staff and students spoke in English and standard Chinese which helped in learning it. Note that locals spoke Wuhan. There is no formal education in Wuhan.

Cost of living in PRC is significantly cheaper than in the US.
Food, Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
The main financial surprises came from visa problems. The bureaucracy tends to be very unforgiving about it.

I recommend it academically for those who know Chinese as it's one of the top universities in China. Language-wise it's a little expensive.
