Travelling in Spain isn't expensive. Buses companies are cheaper than trains' ones and Barcelona for example is well connected to Madrid in bus. Spanish people are very open-minded and have a wonderful culture which they love to talk about , so listen to them! Read Review

Couldn't have asked for more.
Pretty good.
Could've been better, but didn't lessen the overall experience.
Disappointing.
Facilities
Location
Cleanliness
Space
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? I like to manage on my own and living in your appartement is the best way to feel independant.
Personal comments:
My appartement was clean, confortable and close to the university I spent a really good time there.

Travel
Overall
Describe host city: Students interact with the local community without much university involvement
Nightlife, Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment
Activities: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment
Personal comments:
Spanish people are very open-minded and kind. The best way to integrate the city is to go out with a little group of friends and don't be afraid to talk to people sat next to you wherever the place you are.

KEY:

I coped pretty well.
Sometimes it was difficult.
It was a constant struggle.
Educational
Administrative / Institutional
Overall
Language of instruction: Spanish
Was learning Spanish a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my Spanish
How much did you improve your Spanish?
My level before: Basic phrases
My level after: At ease in most situations
Personal comments:
I started speaking english to most people I met in the beginning (as they were mostly foreign students). But I quickly started dreaming in spanish and the day-to-day made the rest. I'm sure now that if you only know the basic phrases and grammar while arriving in the country you can be at ease in 2 or 3 months in most situations.
