Most of the time we were talking English, because international students don't really integrate with the Hungarian students. So most of the time it was English, and because my home study is in English as well. I didn't have any troubles in communicating with others. I was born in Hungary and left when I was 9, but speak the language at home. Trust me, the less Hungarian you know the more enjoyable your experience will be. The language at the ISC is English and most profs were decent, although some were flat-out awful. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

It is a pity that the courses were held in English, I would have prefered to study in Hungarian, but the overwhelming majority of Erasmus students were not interested in Hungarian and so the courses were held in English. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

many teacher s speak a quite good english, but there are also a lot of teacher that suffer from a proper english communication ability. The Hungarian students usually speak fluently English and German/French, as they are forced to speak two languages at least fluently in order to gain access to the university. IN my opinion they speak English significantly better than the students at my home university. Usually they also speak a thrid language quite good. So there are no problems of communication with the students. A lot of Hungarians living in Budapest speak German, so be careful if you speak German because a lot of people understand you!
