If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? I like my independence.

STUDENT LIFE
by Rebecca, University of Aberdeen, Aberdeen, United Kingdom
Business Studies, Erasmus
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students interact with the local community without much university involvement
Activities, Nightlife, Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment Personal comments:
I went to the opera, the theatre and nearly all the art museums. It was a very cultural city. I also went to various concerts of popular music. The nights of fourviere are not to be missed as is the the festival of lights. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
French courses are ridiculous. You can download notes off the internet from the year before and pass the test without ever having taken the class.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
Yeah, stay in America if you want real education. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: French
Was learning French a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my French How much did you improve your French?
My level before: Basic phrases My level after: At ease in most situations Personal comments:
This one-year course included modules in politics, economics and growth of the EU. This provided me with the opportunity to experience university life in France. All lectures and tutorials were given in French. Initially, this was quite a challenge but I quickly learned to adapt and persevere. It also made me aware of the different teaching and learning techniques used in France This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
Nothing specific-- being surprised is one of the best things about study abroad. In my opinion:
Most people loved it.
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
Definitely go-- classes were interesting, people are cool, and lyon is a GREAT city! FINAL COMMENTS
Studying abroad was the best thing I've done during my college career-- all I want to do since I've been back is go back! I love my home university and the US, but my six months in France were definitely the best of my life. Advice: GO ABROAD! And while you're there, travel, immerse yourself in the culture, and have a blast, This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
