by Sadik Salih, Yildiz Teknik Üniversitesi, Istanbul, Turkey
Engineering, Mechanical, Erasmus
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Dormitory
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? It is more comfortable and I would like to be closer to the city center.
Personal comments:
It was great experience in my life that's why in this moment I am doing my master degree again at Instituto Superior Tecnico. It is a well-known university and the education is the best in Portugal. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

STUDENT LIFE
by Carla, Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, Santiago de Compostela, Spain
Engineering, Chemical, Erasmus
Personal social experience
Describe host city: Students equally interact with the local and student community
Activities, Travel: Takes place mostly outside the university/student environment Nightlife: Takes place both within and outside of the university/student environment Personal comments:
Erasmus life is the best, people is the best in Lisbon, but nightlife is very interesting, and the cultural offer is amazing and quite cheap, there're a lot of reductions in prices for students. Lisbon is very calm if you want but very active if you don't want to stop. And portuguese people is very, very polite and kind. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
Family Other sources of funding:
An ERASMUS grant Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options Personal spending habits:
The cost of life in Lisbon was smaller as in France. As a consequence the basic expenses for food and accomodation were smaller. I travelled more there because I didn't know the country abd these expenses were bigger. Travel, Telephone: was more expensive than at home. Nightlife, Overall: was the same price as at home. Food, Housing: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
Sometimes I had difficulty to withdraw money through the Visa bank net. But I had a second way to withdraw money using Postchecks and it helped a lot. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Important to choosing this university...
I wish I had known...
Portugal was a little bit known for me because it's near from my home, so, I knew the essencial for surviving the first days. But the things that I learn here are always good. In my opinion:
I loved it but I'm not sure everybody would.
During my experience abroad, I ...
Personal recommendation:
To be very talkative and try to learn about everything:people, culture, country, food. Portughese people is very curious about people from abroad, smiling and talking is something that can help you a lot. FINAL COMMENTS
Be careful because this is a big city, but not to have fear about enjoying Lisbon. Always take the guides because they can give you a lot of ideas about places to visit, to eat, to go out... This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
