Telephone and Housing are simply cheaper than in Germany. The Nightlife is almost the same price than in Germany but i did go out ten times more than in Germany. Travelling is much cheaper than in Germany, especially public transportation like trains and busses. Nightlife: was more expensive than at home. Food, Overall: was the same price as at home. Travel, Telephone, Housing: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
A surprise was that the Nightlife is quite expensive for Portugal. At least in the clubs the prices are almost the same price than in Germany (3euros/beer). A saving tip is not to go out that often but who wants that ???? :-) The most money you can save if you take a little bit more time to find a proper appartement because living can be really cheap in portugal and lisbon. Food is in general cheaper than in Austria. of course your phone bill is higher if you talk to your family and friends at home. nightlife is cheaper than in Vienna, but if you go out at least 3 times a week you spend a lot. As I didn´t want to set something aside and the time during erasmus is so intensive, it happens that you squander money! Overall, Telephone: was more expensive than at home. Travel, Nightlife: was the same price as at home. Food, Housing: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
i would suggest a TMN mobile phone, cause sending sms within the TMN network is for free. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Evrerything is a bit more expenisive, there are certain product that are cheaper like alcoholic drinks but we drunk and partied more than at home. Food, Overall, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Travel, Nightlife, Telephone: was the same price as at home.
Personal comments:
Find your own flat to stay! Everythign else is way more expensive. Everybody tries to make a profit of the Erasmus student, which is a bit annoying. travel by your self, car rental over the internet is extra cheap (NATIONAL). This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

At home food and housing is divided between all family members. In Portugal I used to eat very often in restaurants. I used to travel more than in Poland. Telephon calls are very cheap in Portugal. Food, Travel, Overall, Housing: was more expensive than at home. Nightlife: was the same price as at home. Telephone: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
Try to shop in Mini Preco or Lidel, for night life for girls: in many places there are special days in a week when ladies can enter for free! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
