Personal comments:
Downtown Mazatlan, the Altazor Café: cool place to relax, to get a coffee or a beer, the service is good and they have good music. Not to be missed: Bora Bora! It's THE club in Mazatlan, but it's expensive, so it's for once in a while. Isla de la Piedra is close, and it's a good beach with not that many tourism. You have to get there by boat. Of course, there is a lot to see in Mexico. It was my first exchange, but the second, in Taxco is much more typical, more "mexican". Guanajuato, San Miguel, Oaxaca, Cuernavaca, Durango, Tequila, Guadalajara, Isla Mujeres, Tulum, Chichen Itza Puerto Escondido are some of the places you can't miss. Even Guatemala is not too far and the "Lago de Atitlan" is beautiful.

Personal comments:
Barrio Antiguo is the dominating nightlife scene in MTY. I recommend Bar-Rio for special occasions (very expensive) but encourage you to visit smaller bars n pubs, you may be well surprised by the positive atmosphere! Another bar center can be found in San Pedro. Alebrije is extremely popular thorought MX, but my personal favourites are Cabana&Cocktail for chilling and Motel for clubbing. There are several nice cafe/bar/diners around campus. Check out at least sushi bar,bamboo and the jamaican lot (can't remember the name...)

Personal comments:
With some Mexican friends we had a favorite club : la Cabana. You can dance, sing and meet a lot of people. Travelling in Mexico is wonderful because the places are very different. For instance, Guanajuato is a beautiful city lost in the mountains! Mexicans are very welcoming, I participate in some associations and it was very interesting.

Joes Oyster Bar is always fun. Bora Bora, and Valentinos. I forgot what it was called but there is a great place downtown by Cafe Pacifico(The restuarant not the Brewery) it doesn't have a sign and its hidden but it's a great alternative bar. For food La Rioja spanish restuarant and freinds houses for true mexican food(Menudo Sundays).

Café Iguana, La cabaña, Barrio Antiguo, Havana. Places not to be missed: Huasteca, Cola del cabalo, La Bandera del Obispado, La Macro Plaza, etc. Travel around Mexico (Chiapas, Oxaca, Baja California, Tulum, Cuidad de Mexico, Barrancas del Cobre, etc.)

They have alot of clubs, cafes and things to do, but after i pretty much did it all, or at least what i wanted to, i just spent my free time hanging out with friends at my house or theres, but there things to do for everyones taste.

I really liked the downtown of Querétaro. I don't remember specific names of the locations, but I always enjoyed being down there in the evening; people were everywhere with family or friends.

Our favorite night spot in Cuernavaca was the Harry's bar during the thuesday's open bar we had also fun at the thaberna, the placard, la Bola (restaurant)

A bar called "La Cabaña" located in the "Centrito Valle" and there are also a lot of pubs and discos in the old part of Monterrey known as the "Barrio Antiguo".
