HOUSING
Personal assessment
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
Personal comments:
The arrangements of housing were really well taken care of. However, I was not totally satisfied with my apartment since it was from time to time really cold and one couldn´t do anything about it. The good thing that I lived in an apartment was that I lived with an Austrian man so I could speak when ever I wanted. However, there are many good aspects also in other options. For example, in campus there were free internet connections and, of course, one had a super oppotunity to meet lots of friends... ACADEMIC
My academic experiences
Course recommendations:
I decided to choose pretty many courses in the beginnig and after a while a quited the courses that didn´t interest me or I didn´t have enough time.
My opinion of the university assessment
Personal comments:
It was pretty hard to do the exams because the time limit was rather strict compared to my home university. Bitte, mehr Zeit für ERASMUS-Studierende.. :) This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

Language difficulties
Language of instruction: German
Was learning German a key decision factor?
Yes, I wanted to improve my German How much did you improve your German?
My level before: Basic phrases My level after: At ease in most situations Personal comments:
My language skills really improved during my exchange time. However, I must admit that even after my four and a half months exchange period I don´t fully understand local people. The dialect is horrible!! This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself

EXPENSES
The accessibility of student needs
Main source of funding:
Personal savings Other sources of funding:
Family Government assistance An ERASMUS grant Work opportunities:
I didn't explore any work options Personal spending habits:
The food was a bit cheaper in Austria than here in Finland. However, I was so lazy that most of the time I ate outside so, which wasn´t the cheapest way. My girl friend was in an other country at the same time so of course my phone bills were pretty huge. Housing was a bit cheaper than here in Finland. Nightlife...cheap Beer, but * many times! Austria is ideally located -> my bank account knows that now. Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Telephone: was more expensive than at home. Food: was the same price as at home. Housing: was less expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
Open your own bank account in Austria. Visa was not valid everywhere so one usually had to carry pretty much cash.. This review is the opinion of an iAgora member, and not of iAgora itself
