HOUSING
by Beatriz, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Madrid, Spain
Physics, Erasmus
Personal assessment
Cost
KEY:
Couldn't have asked for more.
Pretty good.
Could've been better, but didn't lessen the overall experience.
Disappointing.
Facilities
Location
Cleanliness
Space
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why? It gives you more freedom to accept guests and invite people.
Personal comments:
It's difficult to find accomodation in London, and this hall was really central, although a bit expensive. There was an accomodation office at the university to help you, which was quite nice. I didn't like some of the Hall rules about guests, but apart from that, the place was quite nice.

Could've been a bit better.
Disappointing.

European Law was really interesting and so was Human Rights Law. Apparently tort is really stressful, Criminology was o.k. but not particularly interesting (although both lecturers were really good!)

My opinion of the university assessment
Exams at end of course
KEY:
Liked it.
It was alright.
A bit annoying.
Didn't like it.
Exams throughout the course
Essays and/or projects at the end of course.

How much did you improve your English?
My level before: At ease in most situations
My level after: At ease in most situations
Personal comments:
unfortunately I don't think my language skills improved that much; of course improvement as to leagl terms but not that much in everyday life (since I was fluent before I came here)

Personal spending habits:
FACT: ITS SO MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE IN LONDON! BEWARE!!!!!!!!
Food, Travel, Nightlife, Overall, Telephone, Housing: was more expensive than at home.
Personal comments:
Please do make sure to eat. Some students are such sticks when the return back home to their home country! Tip: DONT overspend. the banks seem to attract you with their overdraft facilities, but dont fall into the trap. Dont use up the overdraft to the bitter end...I had to pay back my overdraft and it was painful! So pls..dont overspend..dont go out to much! (ok kinda hard...but at least try not to spend too much!)

FINAL COMMENTS

apparently studenthouse organise really cheap travels for students (Scotland/Isle of Sky etc.); also coach travels are not too expensive when you invest in a coach travel card which is about £10
